General About Me
I write blogs, produced an online horror publication for three years and an additional issue (19 issues total), and write short fiction and novels. I've even recorded a complete story in audio book fashion complete with original music, and would like to do another when a good story presents itself. I also do web design.

Hello and welcome to final entry for 2010. Yes it's that time already. I have a bunch of work to do in the background, but this is it for blogging except for a special R.G. Male's Dark Corners next Wednesday. I could tell you about prohects I have in the works, things I want to release in the new year. I could leave all sorts of teasers, but instead I will just keep things simple and personal.

I wish everyone a Happy December/Kwanzaa/Hanukkah/Solstice/Yule or a Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year. See you in 2011!

Names Now, More Later

There are things afoot at Battered Spleen Productions(TM). Marketing is an important step after the production process is done. Sometimes it is even a factor before and during production--an important concept. Part of that is helping people to find your products. Online an easy way to do that is with a website name that is easy to remember. It is still important even though you can Google sites and keep a bookmark. There are other issues beyond those options. One of them is owning a name or names. A trademark ultimately requires more than just claiming it. There has to be something to which it is attached. A good way to combine prior art and easy to remember names is buying a domain name and then putting something up there. To that end I have been buying domains and setting up sites. Let me tell you about a couple of them.

First up is my persona page www.robertgmale.com where I publicly keep track of different projects. You may or may not have heard of the kickin' band www.gornofurverts.com yet. You certainly haven't seen or heard anything for the sexy goth-chick band www.corpsalicious.com yet. There is a front page for www.killingtime-horror-erag.com if you didn't know. You'll want to keep an eye on www.thismentaleventide.com for my psychic horror pen and paper role-playing game. It has a related site www.umbralintentions.com where you'll just have to wait and see what goes down. Also on the game front is www.ssh-rpg.com for Spooks, Spies & Hackers(TM).  There are a few more but I'll leave them for another time except for www.rmtp.ca my parent company's page.

The Last Deserver

It's that time again. Killing Time - Horror E-Rag Issue 2-6 is available now. A brand new issue, and new horrors. This is the last issue of Year Two. That means that you could instead buy all six issues at a discounted price. Either way it's a good day to be a horror fan. The first thing I want to tell you about is this issue's piece of the serial story PSY3007 Act 6. As I mentioned last time it could be the stunning conclusion to the story or a mind-blowing cliffhanger. The only way to find out it is to buy the issue and read for yourself. The other two stories in this issue are a little longer than previous ones have been making this issue more bang for your buck. The first is "Ghost of the Navigator" about a storeowner who picks up a ghost. The other is "No Fury", and is the last of the Deservers stories. Devils are afoot again, but they may have some competition.

The first article--after the "Letter From the Editor" detailing the creative process of the issue and other sundry thoughts--is titled "Horror Stars?" and is a veritable who's who of actors and actresses that you might never have imaged played roles in a horror movie. This issue also marks the final "Horror Movie Franchise Discussion" with #9 and it is the Scream Trilogy. It's a very interesting look back in light that there is soon to be a fourth movie, which is bound to change some of the dynamics described and come with it's own new rules of horror. Until then the last article, the final "Hangman's Noose", covers a lot of the rules of horror movies and especially horror movie franchises. The two reviews are for the movies "The Cell" and "The Mothman Prophesies" this time. The next issue will be coming out January 21, 2011, not in December. I hope you can wait.
